Guest Wi-Fi Acceptable Use Policy  

INTRODUCTION

This acceptable use policy (“Policy”) sets out the terms that apply when you access and use the guest wireless network (“Wi-Fi Service”) provided by Waterlooville Baptist Church (“we”, “our”, “us”).
The Wi-Fi Service is provided free of charge for visitors and guests while on our premises.
Access to and use of the Wi-Fi Service is entirely at our discretion. We may block, suspend, or terminate access at any time and for any reason.
By connecting to our Wi-Fi Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Wi-Fi Service.
This Policy aims to ensure that the Wi-Fi Service is used lawfully, safely, and in a way that supports our church’s commitment to safeguarding and to providing a respectful, secure environment for all.
The Wi-Fi Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied.

USE OF THE WI-FI SERVICE

You may use the Wi-Fi Service only for lawful purposes.
You must not use the Wi-Fi Service in any way that:

breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
is unlawful, fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
causes harm or distress to any person, including children, young people, or vulnerable adults;
transmits, receives, or displays material that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate in a church setting;
promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence; or
infringes the rights of others, including intellectual property rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF USERS

Device Security

You are responsible for the security of your own devices.
You must ensure that your devices are running up-to-date antivirus software and security updates.
You understand that connecting to the Internet carries risks, including exposure to viruses, malware, and other threats, and you accept full responsibility for managing these risks.

Network Use

Do not run programs, services, or systems that may degrade the performance of the network.
Do not use peer-to-peer file sharing or download large files that could affect network speed for others.

Unauthorised Access and Misuse

Do not attempt to access, interfere with, or damage any systems, accounts, or data belonging to others.
Do not attempt to bypass or subvert network security controls.
Do not forge identities or misrepresent yourself in any form of communication.

Children, Young People, and Vulnerable Adults

Use by children, young people, or vulnerable adults should be with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
Parents or guardians are encouraged to supervise Internet use and discuss online safety with those in their care.

MONITORING AND ENFORCEMENT

We reserve the right to block, filter, or restrict access to material we consider illegal, inappropriate, or inconsistent with this Policy or our safeguarding commitments.
We may co-operate with law enforcement or other authorities in the investigation of any suspected or alleged crime or civil wrong.
Breaches of this Policy may result in:

temporary or permanent withdrawal of access to the Wi-Fi Service;
notification to law enforcement authorities; or
further legal action where necessary.

LIABILITY

Use of the Wi-Fi Service is entirely at your own risk.
We accept no responsibility for the content you access, download, or share using the Wi-Fi Service.
We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from use of the Wi-Fi Service or from exposure to any harmful programs or material encountered online.
You agree to indemnify Waterlooville Baptist Church against all claims, costs, or liabilities arising from your use of the Wi-Fi Service in breach of this Policy.6.ACCEPTANCE
By connecting to the Waterlooville Baptist Church Guest Wi-Fi, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Acceptable Use Policy.
