Youth Groups

Waterlooville Baptist Church offers a variety of activities for young people. These range from Bible teaching groups, fun clubs and uniformed organisations.

We believe that children and young people are not only the future of our church, but that Jesus instructed us all the love and value each young person. We consider that young people are a blessing to our fellowship. Over many years we have taught them the Bible stories, and encouraged them to uphold the values of the Bible in their daily lives.

1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” (NIV)

Provision is made for young people of all ages during Sunday morning worship. Once a month the morning service is an All Age family service when everyone stays in the service. On the other Sundays there is Y-Zone for young people up to 18 years of age and this meets on the 3 Sundays in the month when it is not a family service.  Provision is made for younger children by way of J-force and a Creche.

On Sunday evenings the church has two different groups each month for teenagers. On the first Sunday evening of the month, Freedom Generation meets as a homegroup when Biblical topics are discussed. On the third Sunday evening of the month, Youth Space is held. This meets in the local Costa and is a time for friendly open discussion, giving young people a real chance to talk about God in their everyday lives. Every other month a joint Youth Service is held; these are done jointly with five other churches in the area. Each church takes a turn at hosting and leading some part of the service.

The musical talent in our youth is encouraged. For youth services they form a youth band. Some also join the worship  band that leads the main Sunday services. The youth band will often help lead the All Age family service. Another feature of the All age Service is the Puppet ministry.

Other organisations for young people are
, Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade and Rock Solid These offer the Christian message being taught while either doing badge work or playing fun games.
